Closing Summary- Market Synopsis- 13 April, 2012

The high profile week ended on a very crucial level. After a positive opening for the second continuous trading session and after sustaining at higher levels for the first half of the day, the major indices were suddenly seen dropping below the crucial levels. Weakness in the European markets, especially the high debt laden Spain and Italy, sent Indian stock indices tumbling in a matter of few minutes. This pulled the midcap and the small-cap counters in negative and led them to end the day in red.
