Morning Summary- Market Synopsis- 2nd August, 2012

Good Morning Everyone,
The market edged lower in early trade on weak Asian stocks. The market trimmed losses in morning trade. Intraday recovery witnessed in morning trade proved short lived, with key benchmark indices hitting fresh intraday lows in mid-morning trade. At 11:20 IST, the BSE Sensex was down 64 points or 0.37% to 17,193.08. The index fell 78.46 points at the day's low of 17,178.92 in

 mid-morning trade, its lowest level since 31 July 2012. The S&P CNX Nifty was down 18.80 points or 0.36% to 5,221.70. The Nifty hit high of 5,236.90 and a low of 5,214.70 in intraday trade. The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was positive. On BSE, 1,100 shares rose and 908 shares fell. A total of 99 shares were unchanged. Sectorwise Consumer durables and FMCG outperformed the broader markets, whereas banking, Oil & Gas, Auto were trading down by 0.5% - 0.9% and underperformed the broader markets.
