Morning Summary, Market Synopsis: 2nd April, 2014


The market has opened slightly higher as the Sensex is up 65.60 points at 22451.87 and the Nifty up 25.30 points at 6729.50. Currency market remain on India will open tomorrow after a long holiday. Globally, in the US, stocks wrapped up the session on a high note, with the Dow logging triple-digit gains, after Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen said there's still room for the central bank to help the economy. But major index ended relatively flat for the first quarter of 2014. Dow Jones ended the day at 16457.66, up 134.60 points, while the Nasdaq closed at 4198.99, up 43.23 points. Midcap and Smallcap on BSE are also trading positive with Midcap up by 0.08% and Small cap gained over 0.32% as we write this. On sectoral front IT is the top gainer to add almost a percent while Metal is the worst performer to decline 1.23% at the time of writing this.
