The key indices extended their previous sessions’ losses and kick-started trade on a negative note. However, within minutes of the opening bell, the bourses gained momentum and entered the positive terrain. The indices finally broke the five-day losing streak to end on a positive note. The Sensex ended at 16328, up 112 points from the previous close while the Nifty pulled down shutters at 4943, higher by 35 points. On the sectoral front, FMCG was the only index to close in the red. Capital Goods and Metal were the biggest gainers with over two percent gains. The market breadth was slightly positive and seven stocks were seen advancing against every six declines.
