Closing Summary- Market Synopsis- 8 May, 2012

From a flat start to consolidation in the mid session and then a steep drop – this was the precise description of the market today. The subdued broader markets and all round selling worked as fuel and pulled down the market to lower levels. Finally the major indices ended near the session lows. This led the midcap and the small-cap counters to close negative by nearly a percentage point each.
