Morning Summary, Market Synopsis: 2nd January, 2014


The markets has opened with positive note and gained on the back of Banking Sector, Media sector and Service sector. The Nifty racing towards to its crucial resistance of 6350 level while Sensex is rising over 100 points. The Sensex rose 117.74 points to 21258.22 and the Nifty climbed to 6335.40, up 33.75 points. The Indian rupee is trading lower at 61.79, stronger by 11 paise or 0.18% after having tested a low of 61.75. On Global sector, Asian equity markets were mixed on the first trading day of the year while liquidity levels were low due to the holiday period. On BSE, Mid Cap and Small Cap are gaining since morning, up around a percent. On sectoral front, BSE Bankex is leading the all sectors, surge 1.50% while BSE Consumer Durables up 1.16%, followed by rest of the sectors.
