The day finally ended on a flat note. The week had started on a quite note and similar kind of activity was observed for the rest part of the day. Markets were stuck in a narrow trading band and were seen struggling for specific direction. This led the Sensex to close at the level of 19409.69 i.e., down by 14.41 points and the Nifty to close at the level of 5907.4 i.e., down by 23.5 points. The mi
dcap counters closed positive by over half a percentage point while small-cap counters closed positive by less than half a percentage point. On the sectoral front, the indices closed mixed. Healthcare & Realty indices closed as the major gainers with gains of over a percentage point each while Consumer Durables index closed as the major loser with losses of over one and a half percentage points.
