The major Indian equity indices started the day on a sedate note with the market struggling for direction. The Sensex is currently trading near the level of 18600 i.e., down by nearly 25 points and the Nifty is trading near the level of 5645 i.e., down by nearly 7 points. The midcap & the small-cap counters are trading flat. On the sectoral front, the indices are trading mixed. Realty index is leading the list of gainers with gains of nearly one and a half percentage points while FMCG & Auto indices are leading the list of losers with losses of over half a percentage point each. Further, the market breadth is negative as only five stocks are seen advancing for every six declines.
