Indian stocks closed the first trading day of a truncated week with healthy gains amid range bound and choppy trading. After opening at the day’s low, the frontline indices gradually gained momentum before settling modestly higher. Buying support emerged every time the indices inched down, i.e., the dips were utilized to add more long positions. The midcap and the small-cap counters closed positive by nearly gains of a percentage point each.
