Key
benchmark indices registered small losses, with turnover on BSE seeing a
sharp decline due to a near 3-hour shutdown caused by network outage.
The Nifty fell 0.13 percent and ended at a provisional 7,714.80 points
after earlier hitting a record high at 7,754.65 points. The index had
gained 3.1 percent over the previous four sessions. Among auto makers,
Tata Motors scaled record high. Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp dropped as
both these stocks turned ex-dividend.
The
market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market was
negative, but in Nifty50 stocks the advances to declines stands at 15
advances to 34 declines, 1 unchanged.
