Market Heatmap- 6 June 2012

The benchmark indices, which started off on a dull note today, gained over 2% to end in the green. Sensex ended at 16454, higher by 434 points while Nifty closed the day at 4997, up 134 points. The broader market too ended with heavy gains. The BSE Midcap index and the BSE Smallcap index rose by 1.78% and 1.48% respectively.Sectorally, buying was seen across the board. Auto, Capital Goods, Power and Bankex were leading the charts with gains over 3% each, while the other indices too ended in the positive.
