Morning Market Update

Stock indices opened positive with the NSE Nifty topping 5950 points, while Sensex was at 19722.30, up 39.07 points or 0.2%, mirroring firm global equities. Realty, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas shares rose, while capital goods and metal counters slipped.
Bharat Petroleum Corp, Oil and Natural Gas Corp, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and Ranbaxy Laboratories rose over 1-2%. Larsen & Toubro was down 1.3% as the World Bank has barred the engineering major from participating in its projects for six months.
