The major Indian equity indices closed the day in green. The sudden boost coming from the US markets due to Barack Obama’s win in the presidential elections, pulled the markets up from the previously cautious zone. This led the Sensex to close at the level of 18902.41 i.e., up by 85.03 points and the Nifty close at the level of 5760.1 i.e., up by 35.70 points. The midcap & small-cap counters closed positive with gains of over half a percentage point each. On the sectoral front, except for Oil&Gas index, all the other indices closed in green. Realty index closed as the major gainer with gains of over two and a half percentage points.
