The Indian markets opened on a flat note today. However, a rally in European markets on rising hopes of fresh bond buying program helped the markets rise to intraday highs in afternoon trade. The Sensex finally ended at 17346 up 33 points and the Nifty closed at 5238 up by 13 points. IT and Teck were leading the list of sectoral gainers with over one percent gains. FMCG was on the other hand the top loser in today's trade shedding over one percentage points.
