The bourses today pared previous session's losses and kick-started the trade on a positive note. The rise was triggered by strong moves on the Asian markets. Asian stocks rose after Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos said major progress has been made in debt-swap talks with bondholders and Japan’s industrial production grew faster than economists estimated. The indices finally closed about two percent higher posting close to 11 percent gain in the month of January. Sensex closed at 17193 with a gain of 330 points while Nifty closed at 5199 with a gain of 112 points. (Pic. Source- bseindia.com)
