As per the anticipation, the frontline Indian equity benchmarks lost ground in early morning trade, extending losses from the past three sessions. Investors remain wary of medium-term prospects for the Indian economy after industrial production contracted for the first time in 28 months in October. The Sensex opened around 15,809, down 60 points whereas, the Nifty quoted 4,746, down 18 points. The Small-Cap and Mid-Cap counters are trading neagtive and are currently down by 0.85% and 0.67%. On the sectoral front, FMCG, IT and Teck indices are the only counters trading in green whereas, Capital Goods, Bank and Consumer Durables are the top losers till now. The market breadth is negative as only four stocks are seen advancing for every nine declines.
