Morning Summary, Market Synopsis: 10th April, 2015

Markets open flat; Nifty hovers at 8,775: Benchmark shares indices opened flat after bullish run in the past five straight sessions with the Sensex losing ground after opening with a positive bias. The markets will keep an eye on the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) numbers for February to be unveiled in the course of the day.

At 9:30 AM, the 30-share Sensex was down 24 points at 28,860 and the 50-share Nifty was down 7 points at 8,771. In the broader markets, the BSE Mid-cap index was up 0.5% and the Small-cap index was up 0.5%. The Indian rupee has opened marginally lower at 62.30 per dollar today against previous day's closing value of 62.24 a dollar.
