Key benchmark indices snapped its nine-day winning streak on Thursday as investors pared positions in blue-chips shares after a string of record highs earlier in the week, and as caution prevailed ahead of a key ECB meeting. The Sensex provisionally closed 0.2 percent lower, while the broader Nifty lost 0.23 percent.

The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market was negative, in Nifty50 stocks the advances to declines stands at 18 advances to 32 declines. Among the sectors traded on NSE, CNX Realty was the worst hit down by 4%, whereas CNX Pharma was the top gainer up by 0.46%.
